ADAMS COUNTY SHELTER FOR THE HOMELESS


On Monday November 29, 2010 The Adams County Shelter for the Homeless, Inc hosted a open house to give partners, stakeholders and community members their new digs. The shelter is a emergency shelter with the capacity to house 20 people and Bob Boldman the shelters Director has plans to add a transitional housing program.

The shelter moved earlier in November from Blue Creek Ohio to West Union Ohio. This move will make the shelter more accessible to clients and the clients will have better access to the prospect of employment.

Homer the Homeless Cat

Homer came to the shelter one week ago. As a car drove past the new shelter location someone through the Tabby out the window. The shelter staff has adopted the tabby and named him Homer. Homer either sleeps here on the porch or in the new administrative office.

The shelter received a capacity building grant to purchase all commercial grade new appliances
These are the new washer and dryer for clients to use.

This area was a carport and now is a new kitchen with new commercial grade appliances.
