Hello! Welcome to our corner of Ohio, and our blog! We hope you will find the information we provide helpful, and that it makes your Ohio Benefit Bank site successful.
I thought our first few posts would concentrate on what brought us to work for the Ohio Benefit Bank. I've been with the program for four years. I started out as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Community Trainer, and was based at Shared Harvest Foodbank. I spent my year of service building the OBB network up from a handful of sites. Today, we number over 230 sites over 15 counties!
When my year of service ended, I moved into the role of Regional Coordinator. This role overseas the development of new Ohio Benefit Bank sites, supports existing OBB sites, and mentors our AmeriCorps*VISTA Community Trainers. This year, our AmeriCorps*VISTA Communtiy Trainers are Krupa Parikh, located at Shared Harvest Foodbank, and Melvina Pounds, located at FreeStore Foodbank.
We look forward to working with you, and growing the OBB network together!
